Where can I get the latest Microsoft DirectX 11 SDK?

    Question

  • I'm sorry if this is a bother, but I need to connect with a human being to verify that the machines have the right answer. I searched for the latest Microsoft DirectX SDK and came up with is the Microsoft_download_details site using id=6812 but the details for this download are:
    Version:
    9.29.1962

    File Name:

    DXSDK_Jun10.exe

    Date Published:

    6/7/2010

    File Size:

    571.7 MB

So, I just want to check that this is correct...I know DirectX 12 is available, but I want to make sure that my 3D graphics application that I will be developing using C# with the Community version of Visual Studio 2015 will run on Windows 7 and 8 installations.  I'm assuming that after I download it I'll need to run Windows Update to get the latest patches?  Or, is there a new SDK that includes a rollup of 8 years of patches?  My apologies if this is a stupid question...the last time I developed using DirectX was in 1998 using DirectX 9 with Visual Basic with Visual Studio 6.0.
