I cannot run visual studios on my computer RRS feed

  • So recently I was infected with a virus that directly infected visual studio and I pretty much reinstalled visual studio to remove it and it worked.But now I cannot run it I always run into this error Win32Exception: No such interface supported.I tried repairing,reinstalling,updating to visual studio 2019.Nothing worked.I ran malwarebytes and it didnt detect anything(so I did remove it).I tried repeairing registry with ccleaner.After that I tried looking it up online with no results.

    According to your error message, I suggest you can try to download the offline installer package and use it to re-install VS.

    How did you uninstall visual studio? If VS uninstall is not clean or can’t be uninstalled, you can use “cleanup” to uninstall.

    • See if you have this file on your machine: "%programfiles(x86)%\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer\resources\app\layout\InstallCleanup.exe"  
    • If so, please launch it from an admin command prompt with a -full param: InstallCleanup.exe  –full  
    • If not, please manually delete the "%programfiles(x86)%\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer” folder
    • Relaunch the newly downloaded vs_enterprise.exe (or vs_professional.exe or vs_community.exe…)
    • Allow the first step to install the installer
    • Once the installer comes up and you can see workload choices (.net desktop and the like), close it
    • Go launch the same InstallCleanup.exe to clean up old build of VS
    • Then relaunch vs_enterprise.exe and install VS

    Before the installation, we can use --verify to perform verification on the offline cache supplied. It checks if packages files are either missing or invalid. 

    If this issue persists, I need your help to collect the installation log. Please download and run thiscollect.exe tool, go to %temp% folder and find the vslogs.zip file, upload it to https://onedrive.live.com/and share the link in here.

    According to your error message, I suggest you can try to download the offline installer package and use it to re-install VS.

    How did you uninstall visual studio? If VS uninstall is not clean or can’t be uninstalled, you can use “cleanup” to uninstall.

    Please follow the cleanup steps and retry your VS install
