  • I personally have never seen that error. Take a look at this article and if that don't work I'd repair VS 2010 it's self.

  • Thank you.  Went to Add-Ins | Manage.  The VSTO adaptors were not in the list of available add-ins. Press the Automation button, found and selected them. Works perfectly now.

    Again thank you.

  • Hi,  Can you tell me how you solved this?  What do you mean by the automation button?  My vsto adaptor is missing in word and excel.

  • Sure,

    1. Open Microsoft Excel
    2. Select the "File" tab
    3. Choose "Options"
    4. Choose "Add-Ins"
    5. On the bottom, you will see "Manage:", combo box "Excel Add-ins", button "Go..." - press it
    6. You will see the Add-Ins available.
Visual Studio Tools for Office Design-Time Adaptor for Excel
Visual Studio Tools for Office Design-Time Adaptor for Word
    7. If they are not there, press the "Automation..." button and go look for them
    8. Check those little puppies off and you are good to go
