Can LightSwitch 2012 consume OData V3 services? RRS feed

  • Question

  • As far as I know (but I couldn't  find any evidence on this) LightSwitch is based on Odata Version 2.

    I'm wondering if LightSwitch could consume an OData service based on version 3?

  • In general you should be able to attach to OData V3 services without issue.  I'm not personally aware of any issues that would prevent this from working.

    In case you didn't know, you can always check out what the OData version is that LightSwitch produces (or that you are attached to) by doing a $metadadata query:

    http://localhost:35550/ApplicationData.svc/$metadata

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="true"?>

    -edmx:Edmx xmlns:edmx="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/06/edmx" Version="1.0">

    -<edmx:DataServices m:MaxDataServiceVersion="3.0" m:DataServiceVersion="1.0"  ...

    HTH - let me know - Thanks, matt Sampson
