TFS API to email user RRS feed

  • Is there any example to email user using TFS API.

    TFS are configured to have smtp server.

    Once one workitem (such as bug,task) is changed, trigger will email to user correctly.

    so My question is how to email some message to User using TFS API?

    I try a few day research, but none of exampe I get.

  • However you can create an Alert with SOAP format and specify the web service endpoint in the "send to" filed then you can custom your email message with normal c# code.

  • Hi Jacky, Thanks for reply.

    the idea code I want is code like following(pseudocode)

    TFSCollection tfs = new TFSCollection(new URI("uri to tfs"));
    
    tfs.sendMail("MessageBody","Message Title“,attachment, "someone@domain.com");

    the tfs will send mail to 'someone@domain.com' with message.

    I just wonder whether TFS has email API to do this task.

    Currently I use C# and SMTP programming to send email. but I think TFS should be able to send email by API.

    I use C# and SMTP to send it via SMTP.

    or config the following alert.

    Open custom alerts

    I will search whether there is any tfs api for email. maybe for security reason, email api may be hided.
