How to remove default text on the EventLog? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How do I create an event log that doesn't append this?

    For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    Thank you.

  • Are you referring to removing that text from an existing event log in which Windows or some other application is creating the entry, or are you referring to event logs that your application is creating?

    If it's not your own application doing the logging, or you don't have access to the code that is generating the logs, I think you may be out of luck.

    If your code is creating the logging events and writing those events to the EventLog, that's another matter.

  • I am creating my own event log. But, it has "For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp." appended to my description and I don't want that.

  • You can simply delete it by String.Replace().Like:

    string log ="123456789 For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.";
    log= log.Replace("For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.", "");
