Remote debugging question RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I use VS 2017 to attach a debugger to a process on some remote machine, then once I've done that and setup breakpoints etc - is there a way to see what server I connected to if I forgot?

This has happened several times because we have many many machines (Dev, QA, UAT etc) and I'd like to be able to see what machine I'm connected to do in VS 2017 but it seems there is no way.

    Thx

  • Hi Captain Kernel,

    Thank you for posting here.

For your question is more related to Debugger, I will move it to Visual Studio Diagnostics (Debugger, Profiler, IntelliTrace) forum for suitable support.

The Visual C# forum discuss and ask questions about the C# programming language, IDE, libraries, samples, and tools.

    Best Regards,

    Wendy

  • Would look for  'Connection Target' in Debug->Windows->Processes.

    With kind regards

  • To set the current process
    • On the Debug Location toolbar, choose Process to view the Process list box. Select the process that you want to designate as current process.
