WP 8.1 project incompatible with Visual Studio Community 2015 RC RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I try to load my WP 8.1 (Windows runtime) project in VS Community edition 2015 RC it tells me that it is incompatible. Why? Also when I try to create a new WP 8.1 (Windows runtime) project in this 2015 community edition it is missing from the options. Why is that?

  • Hi windev1oafi,

Which windows OS version are you using? Could you please tell us the detailed error information when you try to create the Windows Phone 8.1 project in the Visual Studio Community 2015 RC? Besides, please check the following image about the Visual Studio 2015 RC support for Windows universal, Windows Store, and Windows Phone app development:

For more information, please try to refer to:

    Best Regards,

  • I have the same... I was using the preview that expired today, and had a solution originally generated by azure mobile services that has a phone 8.1 project in it.

The phone project is stored in a visual studio online TFS repository.

All was working fine until the preview expired, I downloaded the RC and I now have an incompatible phone project. I'm running the RC Enterprise on windows 10 build 10074.

  • The Tools for Windows Phone development forum is retiring!

If you are still seeing this problem please ask a new question in the Developing Universal Windows apps forum.

    Thanks,

    James
