WPF WebBrowser vs. ASP WebBrowser RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

My company has a customer display that my development team is rewriting.  We want to use a WebBrowser control to display some webpages as opposed to using Internet Explorer for specific customizations.  My question is, which browser control is faster?  Has there been any comparisons between the two? Links to articles would be greatly appreciated; I was unable to find much on the web about it.

    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Hi,

When you say "ASP WebBrowser", do you mean System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser?  If so, that's internally the same web browser as the WPF one is.  It's the Internet Explorer web browser control (WebOC).  Some quick performance tests a while back showed the WPF and WinForms versions perform about the same.
