Faulting application name: w3wp.exe, version: 7.5.7601.17514 on initializing Intellitrace on App Pool

  • We have a production system on which we need to set up Intellitrace. The WCF system (with http/tcp and https endpoints) is hosted on IIS 7.5 in windows server 2008 R2 standard edition.

When we performed all steps for enabling Intellitrace and subsequently try to enable tracing on an app pool, we start getting the following exception in event viewer and the application stops working. Are we missing something?

Faulting application name: w3wp.exe, version: 7.5.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7afa2  Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17725, time stamp: 0x4ec4aa8e  Exception code: 0xc0000374  Fault offset: 0x00000000000c40f2  Faulting process id: 0x2d74  Faulting application start time: 0x01ce09c2447c7c51  Faulting application path: c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\w3wp.exe  Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll  Report Id: 8fd887d1-75b5-11e2-aa24-842b2bb746a8

  • Hello Kishorjha,

    Thank you for your post.

I would like to know if you get this issue when you work with other application and enabel tracing. If yes, I am afraid that the issue is related to your VS. Hope you can provide us more information. If this issue occurs just when you are working with WCF application. If yes, for this type of special app, I am afraid that some professional knowledge is required to resolve this issue. Not WCF expert. I suggest that you can consult your issue on WCF related forum such as Windows Communication Foundation, Serialization, and Networking for better response and support.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

    Best regards,
