  • Hi,

AS4 is a Conformance Profile of the OASIS ebMS 3.0 specification, and represents an open standard for the secure and payload-agnostic exchange of Business-to-business documents using Web services .

    And it supports the following:

    • Support for SOAP 1.1 and 1.2 enveloping structure
    • Support for message-level security including various combinations of XML Digital Signature and/or XML Encryption
    • Support for X.509 security tokens and username/password tokens

So in my mind, if you want to achieve something like the AS4 stabdaerd using wcf, maybe you can use the certification authentication or username authentication with the message security in the wcf.

For more information, please try to check the following articles:

  • Microsoft Biztalk Server Product has a support for this. Refer http://covast.com/library/Covast_ebMS_Adapter_datasheet.pdf

AS4 is intended for B2B integration and it is widely used on EDI space, So Any Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) product like BizTalk, TIBCO will support this.

WCF is not the right framework/technology to support for AS4, but you are free to write your own AS4 serializer and inject that inside WCF.

  • Hi Amy,

Thank you for your response on this.

This is useful to me. I want to achieve client and service which should communicate each other using OASIS ebMS3.0/AS4 standard. Also need to communication between service to another service. Another service can be any platform. I can understand the standards of ebMS3.0/AS4. But I am struggling with how to implement using WCF. I would be very happy if you post some sample references that are related to ebMS3.0/AS4 standards.

    Thanks
