  • Question

  • We are receiving following error, while trying to deploy the application on Win Phone emulator. “Windows Phone Emulator is unable to connect to the Windows Phone operating system: The phone did not respond to the connect request. Some functionality might be disabled.”

I have tried all possible ways that we found on blogs. We are still not able to solve this issue

  • hmm.. is it working fine previously? What have you tried?

How about restarting the phone emulator and visual studio?

  • Any solution found for this? Getting it on Windows 10 w/ the latest developer bits (VS 2015 CTP 6) - can't connect to 8.1 emulator. :/

  • I have had a lot of issues with the emulator in the past.

Check out this troubleshooting guide. It might help:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/jj681694(v=vs.105).aspx

Also, I find that if I cancel my build/deploy while it is stuck on booting the OS and then wait a short while the phone OS will complete booting, and from that point I can deploy to the emulator. It's a workaround, but it works well for me.

I need to do that on Windows 10 tech preview, which may or may not be simply an incompatibility with the beta OS.

  • Just got it.

    • Launch Hyper-V manager
    • Delete all Windows Phone Hyper-V instances
    • Open Virtual Switch Manager
    • Delete Windows Phone switch
    • Re-deploy from VS

You'll get prompted that it needs Admin access to reconfigure Hyper-V for you, then everything works.

This was my experience with VS 2015 CTP 6 and the 512mb 4" 8.1u1 emulator just now.

  • This worked for me except after the first try I had to modify the switch to use my network adapter. I got the error right away, hit ok then it loaded fine. still don't have internet on it but I'm just glad its working at least.

  • Hmm, can´t find Hyper-V manager anywhere. Should be installed. Hints?

    Edit: Goggled it B-)

This works for me too :) Thanx!
