net.tcp listener adapter stops responding RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a .NET (3.5) WCF service hosted in IIS on Windows Server 2008 R2 with a TCP endpoint. When the app pool recycles the net.tcp listener stops responding but the wsdl available through http service discovery continues to work. This has been posted elsewhere (http://forums.iis.net/p/1167668/1954509.aspx) but with no resolution other than service restart manually.

Is this a known IIS bug?

  • Hello, by default, when the application pool recycles, the service host is closed. After the application pool finishes recycling, the service host will not be opened automatically. But when the first client tries to invoke the service, the service host will be opened again. If this is not what you see, can you provide more information? For example, are you using a custom service host factory? In this case, can you try to debug the code to see if something is wrong when trying to create the service host?
