how to configure global variables in dts package in sql server 2000

    问题

  • Hi,

I am using sql server 2000. I am using DTS package to transfer millions of record from one source table to destination table.

I need to globally define the source table name and destination table name such that when I change the source and destination tables and then run the package, it must automatically detect and migrate the records.

    Thanks,
    Rakesh.

  • Hi,

Your link explains how to define global variables which is fine.

I have used microsoft OLE DB provider for sql server for defining SOURCE table and another  microsoft OLE DB provider for sql server for defining DESTINATION table. And when I run the package the data are imported from source to destination. Now I need to make the SOURCE DB NAME and DESTINATION DB NAME dynamic instead of choosing from microsoft OLE DB provider. Hope you can understand  what I mean. If not I will explain.

    Thanks,
    Rakesh.
