Can I change SSIS designer colors? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am having some issues with VS 2017 (15.5.6) and the latest SSDT install (15.5.0) when designing and running SSIS packages. The background color is a light creme color, and the texts that show on top of paths (especially in the data flow when testing the packages) are white. They are very hard to make out, and I tried finding a setting or some way to change the basic colors of the designer, but no luck yet. Is it possible? I'm interested even if solution is unsupported by MSFT and/or community based.

    Sample:

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

It is possible. Go to Tools->Options, in Environment - General, change Color theme from Light to Dark.

  • You'd think that would be the answer, but I'm having the same problem as OP in dark mode, the control and data flow designer surface are cream coloured and because text in the dark color theme is white it's unreadable.

  • I found that setting it to another mode and then back to dark mode fixed the problem for me.
