  • Hi machiraju

According to your description , seems that you have a specified character in your report , which could not render in the csv file .

What the data type of the correspond column which have the error .

How did you export the report to csv? Via subscription or other method  (render by code)?

So if possible could you please offer the detailed report structure with expression , report preview screenshot and the exported csv screen shot to us for more further research .

    Hoping for your reply .

    Best Regards,

    Eric Liu

  • Hi Eric Liu,

The export to CSV is via subscription and the problem is giving for all data types mainly we are using INST & VARCHAR data types.

Exmple: the first row first column heading is EmployeeName and it is displaying as ?EmployeeName.

    Thanks,

    Subbaraju Machiraju.

  • The above provided image is the screen shot for the same.

.rdl is normal and it is working fine when we click save button after rendering the report we are not getting any question mark.

The issue persist only when auto schedule via subscription.

    Thanks,

    Subbaraju Machiraju.

  • Hi machiraju

According to your description , for the given information you could try to check the following aspects .

    • Try to open the csv file in notepad or other file edit tools ,check if it exist the same issue .
    • Try to export the report to csv via the export button ,and then add the csv file to the email and then send it to the target user , check if the csv content would change or not .
    • Check if you have Specific character for the header string , the question mark would appear when there exist character which could not recognized by the csv (language ) like chinses character ,frensh character …etc.

You could offer more relative information about your issue to us for more further research .

  • Hi Eric Liu,

For the first point when I open the .CSV file in notepad I am seeing the first character as question mark.

For the second point, Export the report to .CSV into a specific folder and my custom windows service will pickup and send mail to the customer, after sending deleting that .CSV file from that folder is working perfectly file and as expected, but customer doesn't want to keep the file in the shared folder. (this is the last option when nothing works)

For the third point, we don't have any special characters in the data.

    Thanks,

    Subbaraju Machiraju.
