Which PDB files are served by the Microsoft symbols server? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We use two local network shares to cache our own product symbols as well as those downloaded from Microsofts and other symbol stores.

    http://referencesource.microsoft.com
    http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols
    https://symbols.nuget.org/download/symbols

Due to a temporary misconfigurations, many of the PDB files downloaded from Microsoft ended up spoiling the network share for our product symbols (e.g. ucrtbase.pdb).

The URLs mentioned above cannot be scraped using a browser, etc.

How can I find out which PDB files came from one of the symbol servers and thus are save to delete?

  • Hi Frank Heimes,

    Sorry for delay in reply.

When debugging, you could open Module window which is in Debug/Windows, to check the symbol files locations. Please check this:

    Any feedback will be expected.

    Best Regards,
