Linked server SQLNCLI error Msg 10054, Level 16, State 1, Line 0 AND Msg 18452, Level 14, State 1, Line 0
I am running a select on a linked server and getting this error message. When I run it on the box itself, it works fine. Via the client I receive this message. When I run it via the client as sa, it works, however, not as windows authenticated.
OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI"for linked server "ServerName" returned message "Communication link failure".
Msg 10054, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
Msg 18452, Level 14, State 1, Line 0
Loginfailed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI"for linked server "ServerName" returned message "Invalid connection string attribute".
The script I used to create the linked server is
Set@ServerName = 'ServerName'
exec sp_addlinkedserver @server=@ServerName,
execsp_serveroption @ServerName, 'data access', 'true'
execsp_serveroption @ServerName, 'rpc', 'false'
execsp_serveroption @ServerName, 'rpc out', 'true'
execsp_serveroption @ServerName, 'use remote collation', 'true'
