I want to run dbcc on database as cpu is taking very high but my db size is less. RRS feed

  • I want to run dbcc on database as cpu is taking very high but my db size is 300 gb and hardisk psace is 360gb.

    How can  I proceed?

  • Hello,

    As already CPU is taking high and also very less space on the hard disk, I suggest as of now not to run the DBCC CheckDB. Once disk space increased you can run that command.

    Instead check why CPU is high. Few reasons may be longer I/O, log file full issue, any blockings etc.
    1) Check blocking by "select * from sys.sysprocesses where blocked <> 0"
    2) Check log space by running "dbcc sqlperf(logspace)"

  • if there is High CPU Usage it may be the Reason of Missing Indexes, also
