    Question

  • Hi,

I have Installed SQL server 2005  developer edition  in my local server, I want to access that databases from a Client machine, I have Installed MS visual studio 2008 in client machine  then want to connect database which  is in Local server.

In that “ADD Connection” window it is showing Server name where my SQL server was deployed, but it is not showing the Data Bases available in that server, I have given one DB name already exists in server then I click on  Test Connection  then it is showing the error.

“A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake.  When connection to SQL server 2005  this failure may be caused by the  fact  that under the default settings SQL  server does not  allow remote connections. (Provider : Named  Pipes  provider, error:0 –No  process  is on the other end of the Pipe).

Please help to me how fix this problem.

    Thanks

    Raghav.
