I'm setting up SQL 2008 on a pair of mirrored drives (Raid 1+0). Is there any performance advantage to creating a logical volume and setting up the tempdb files on that volume?
I've read that putting the temp files on their own array increases performance.
RAID 10 will provide great performance on high IOPS requirements. I don’t see any benefit on creating a separate logical volume, if physically they are the same.
Hope this helps.
