ODBC driver only for RHEL? (Syntax error on Debian) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've just attempted to set up these drivers on my Debian system, I installed the Windows version just fine on my local test machine, but when attempting ot install the Linux drivers I get the following;

    ./install.sh: 20: Syntax error: "(" unexpected

    This happens regardless of what parameter (or none) I feed it.

    All instructions also appear to be RHEL exclusive, which makes me wonder if this is only intended for RHEL users?

    The driver I'm attempting to install is http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28160 for reference.

  • So far I've removed the shebang to let it actually run, it reads the script with the wrong version when it was included.

    Problem is, all the package names they are checking for have different names when it isn't RHEL, so all my packages are reported as "missing", but at least progress is made in this regard.
