SSRS 2008: Datadriven subscription error: where to look for error details

    Question

  • Hi,

I've set a datadriven subscription that saves my report to a local diskdrive in PDF file format.

My SSRS 2008 is a developer edition that runs on my local Win7 pro x64 machine and I'm logged in with administrator permissions.

My subscription fails to execute but I get only this status message from report manager:

"Finished: 1 of total 1 processed 1 error.

Where do I find more details on the error?

    Thanks Bodo

  • You can find details about the error in the error logs. Assuming your installation directory is C drive, you can chekc the log files under the following location.

    SQL Server 2005 – C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\LogFiles

    SQL Server 2008R2 – C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles

  • SSRS maintains lot of Log files which help us in troubleshooting. Though the below one is for SSRS 2000, it is still applicable for other versions.
