TCP Provider Error : RRS feed

  • Question

  • I receive the following exception when attampting connect to SQL Server 2005 Database server from Windows 2008. SQL Server is already enabled with remote access per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914277. I'm able to open the connection to same database server from other machines. Windows 2008 is the only machine where I receive the following exception:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake.  When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)

    Appreciate your help
