SQL 2012 - IIS7 - Windows Authentication RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a basic ASP page that runs a SQL query and displays the output in a table. The connection string uses SQL Authentication and works fine. I was asked to try Windows Authentication instead. So I modified the connection string to use trusted authentication and the connection no longer works.

The following error is reported by IIS:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e4d'
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.

In our environment I don't have access to the IIS server or the SQL server. We have separate teams that handle each piece. I need the information about what is needed in order to get Windows Authentication for SQL working through IIS. What changes need to be made on IIS side and what needs to be adjusted on SQL. Looking to get as much info so I can submit the requests appropriately. Otherwise I am not sure who to ask to fix this and what to ask of them.

Any info on how to get this working would be greately appreciated
