Hi,
Ok..then try deleting the files from
C:\Users\<<User>>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Report Builder\10.50.0.0
Note:- change <<user>> with your username...

Hi,
If you have downloaded the report builder on your machine, try removing ReportServer URL from menu->options and see if it works..
If so then try to see your reportServer URL from IE.

Changing that is what initially began crashing the program. I now cannot even get the Report Builder to load to make those changes. I have installed and uninstalled it twice now. Not sure what it is.Monday, April 9, 2012 2:25 PM

Chintak,
Your solution work !! i see there was a user.config file in C:\Users\<<User>>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Report Builder\10.50.0.0 folder. So what was the issue and why it got resolved by deleting that file ?

Most likely the config file was corrupted so it could not be read when the application is loading. By deleting it, the application will not find a config file during launch and create a new one that is not corrupted.Friday, December 18, 2015 6:17 PM

Quick and easy solution, this also worked with Report Builder 3.0 11.0.0.0,
It's weird because it was working fine yesterday.
Thanks!

Hi,
I cannot find the Report Builder folder in the Microsoft folder in the specified location.
Can you suggest something else?

I know this is 8 years later, but thank you so much for this solution! I was banging my head against a wall trying to figure out why my Report Builder kept crashing. Nothing else online worked but this!Thursday, June 18, 2020 2:35 AM
