OlapPivotTableExtension Connection timeout RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are trying to utilize the OLAP PivotTable Extension on This works fine on our internal network. We have a user who is outside our network and connects to excel by launching excel a user that is on our internal network. The user is able to refresh cube data just fine. We receive a "The connection either timed out or was lost" error. Does this extension use a different connection or can one be defined for it?

  • Hi christopmar,

Sorry, this extension is an Excel add-in, you may need to post this thread in Excel Development forum for professional assistance or contact with the supporter of this extension.

Personally, if the user is in  one domain say a and your internal network is in another domain say b, please make sure the relationship of a and b is trust. Then check if the user is able to retrieve SSAS cube data in Pivot Table successfully.
