HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know this problem has cropped up many times, however the previous answers do not help me.

I have been wanting to deploy my SSRS reports to a Test server. However I found that the SSRS service had stopped, and I had to change the setting via Reporting Services Configuration manager so that it used a built in Network Service account. After doing that I found I could start the service. However when I key in the ReportService url in my browser, I get the above error message.

As a result I still cannot deploy my reports. How do I fix this?

Answers

  • In the end I simply uninstalled and reinstalled SSRS, making sure I used a different Reporting Service Database this time and using the Network Service as the service account.

  • Hi arame3333,

    Thanks for your post.

As we know, HTTP 503 errors can occur during report processing or when you first access a report server, as this is a common issue most user encountered, MSDN give a details description about this part, you can refer to HTTP 503 Service is Unavailable part of the article Troubleshooting HTTP Errors

The HTTP service could not be stopped.

    C:\Windows\system32>net start http
The service is starting or stopping.  Please try again later.
