Missing Add as Link option

Question
-
Hi all,
I'm trying to add a link to a file using the drop down "Add As Link" option on the Add Existing Item" dialog however the pop up menu does not exist on the Add button.
I'm using Visual Studio 2015 Enterprise and attempting to add a linked file to a SharePoint 2013 project type.
If I try and add a linked file to a different project type such as a console application or a class library it all works ok. It just seems to be an issue on the SharePoint project type.
Anyone have any ideas why this is?
Thanks,
Rob.

Hi Rob,

Not the real SharePoint experts, I have the VS2015 machine, but it seems that the sharepoint app has other requirmeent, so I didn't create the SharePoint2013 directly.
But if I create a project using New Project->Visual C# ->Office/SharePoint->Apps->App for SharePoint.
I found that no "Add As link" opoint for the sharepoint app.
So I doubt that it really has no that option for the specific project type.
For this issue, you could submit this feature request: http://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio. The Visual Studio product team is listening to user voice there.
In addition, you could post an issue to the SharePoint forum, so maybe you could get other better workaround or know that whether it really supports this feature.
