Sorting by total column RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi I have a query where i have Week (12 weeks) as column and Sender as row.

It produces a matrix on SSRS was "Count" is the details to form my matrix.

First thing I did was add a total column which gives me a total of all 12 weeks for each sender. I want to sort on this column from largest to smallest. I have looked at various posts and they said to go on row group, sorting and enter expression sum(Fields!Count.Value) and sort by Z to A.

When i do this, this does not give me the correct answer, in fact it splits up each sender into a different page and in random orders in terms of total.

Can anyone help me with this?

Answers

  • Hi yes, so basically instead of clicking on the row group itself and then sorting it via row group I went on the actual "Row Groups" below the tablix and did the usual

Right click, group details, sorting, sort via count

    Nope
I dont think you're doing it correctly

The steps you posted are correct but may be you're not doing it correctly

Do you've only single row group?

Can you post screenshot of your report design along with grouping expressions?
