  • I think log shipping information is stored in msdb.

    likewise mirroring/replication configuration information is also stored in msdb?

    appreciate the feedback.

    In replication some information are also stored in tables in the master,publication and distribution databases

    on an instance which I use as a publisher, I can see a 'Database Snapshots' database - which btw has nothing on expansion. is that what you are referring to as publication database?

    No, When you configure replication, you choose which server to use as distributor and which server as publisher and which database in publisher server as Publication database. This is the source database where you have your tables and other objects which you want to get replicated to the Subscribers.
