The Report Builder within the Reporting Services is a tool used to create AD-Hoc report.
Report Builder , a component of SQL Server Reporting Services, delivers ad hoc reporting functionality. Report Builder is fully integrated with Reporting Services.
The Report Builder tool is built using familiar Microsoft Office paradigms so that users can get started quickly. To build a table, matrix, or chart report, use a report layout template that contains predefined data regions and select a predefined report model, which contains report items such as data fields, then drag and drop the report items onto the data regions within the template. Filters can be applied to the report to refine which data gets displayed. The report model contains all of the information required for Report Builder to automatically generate a query to retrieve the requested data. Using Report Builder, users can find data that is related to the content in their report, add text and formatting, create new fields and calculations based on the data in the report model, and preview, print, and publish their reports.

Thanks for your posting.
By default, if the owner of a thread does not follow up his (her) thread long time, we will mark one of the replies as answer that will alert the owner that the thread has been updated. Sometimes we may mark ourselves responses as answered to speed up the answer process and also give the post owner a signal for update.
If the reply does not answer his (her) question, he (she) can unmark the reply.
In addition, after marking the thread as answer, the thread will be moved to the top of the forum, that any other community members will see the thread simply. May be they have met the same issue before and had a good solution.
Also, if the answer is not valid, any moderator can unmark it.
Appreciate your understanding on this.

Not sure we can actually answer this question in a forum. You might try to learn what 'best' is at TDWI or what not. A typical solution is to use Gardner, Forrester, or IDC reports to try to gain some perspective. But frankly, go get the trial versions and see if you like the product. There's no discussion thread in the world that will tell you if the product is best for you and your requirements.
Hope that helps,
