xbrl & SSIS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Are there any people out there who have experience with reading and processing xbrl with SSIS? Could you tell me the approach or third party component you have used? And does the solution supports taxonomy changes?

    Thx in advance,

  • Hi,

As I know about xbrl is like XML files, you can use just script component and manipulate tags as required and then output the result to flat file or DB or whatever you want.

If you feel that you have no driver try to use flat file connection.

    I hope this is helpful.

  • hi,

    See this link

What would be the role of SSIS in this case. Can you elaborate more, how do you plan to use SSIS?

Please vote as helpful or mark as answer, if it helps

  • Yes, I've seen the topic, data is comming in via xbrl files, the goal is to proccess them with SSIS (or other tool) and load into our DWH.

I believe that we probably need to load all the files into the staging before we can map it in the dwh. But loading into the staging should happen automaticly by reading the xbrl taxonomy + files.

I know we could script it, but that is my last resort...
