Does Bing support JSON-LD? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a wordpress site of soccer movie reviews. In order to improve my search ranking on Google, I added JSON-LD structured data script to all my posts. I just assumed that Bing would be able to parse it. But when I go into my bing Webmaster console, and enter my homepage on the Markup Validator page, only one piece of data shows up. So does this mean Bing doesn't understand JSON-LD? Will Bing ever support schema.org and JSON-LD in the way that Google does?

  • Hi

The last time i read about this, Bing have stated they prefer microdata.

Adding structured data to your website, Google provides a Structured Data Markup Helper.

    https://www.google.com/webmasters/markup-helper/

Once you have structured data implemented, you can use the Structured Data Testing Tool provided by Google.

About Bing Structured Data, look here:   http://www.bing.com/webmaster/help/marking-up-your-site-with-structured-data-3a93e731

    hope this helps

  • I wondered if anyone had an update on this. It seems surprising that Bing wouldn't support JSON-LD when Google now prefers it.

Anyone seen an update on support by Bing for JSON-LD?

  • Looks like Bing is not making JSON-LD support a priority.

Here is a few month-old open letter to the team, which hasn't been answered, as far as I know. Pity.
