SSDT Project build failed after moving to VS2013 & SQL 2014 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a db project that builds without any problem in VS2012 and target platform SQL 2012, I now opened it in VS2013 and changed target platform to SQL 2014. Now the build fails, but I don't get any errors or further messages.
    Last message is:
Creating a model to represent the project ....
Done building project "XX" -- FAILED.

This project has some SQL CLR objects and a db reference to master database (changed that after changing target platform), initially the .cs file was reported missing. Added it manually after that the error disappeared but still the project fails to build.

Is there a place to find more information about what keeps it from building ?

  • Hello Ernesto

Does it work when you target SQL 2012 in VS 2013 or just when you target SQL 2014 in VS 2013? If it fails in both, what happens if you create a new project and add all the artifacts? does this resolve the issue? If creating a new project resolves the issue, would you be able to share a file diff of the two projects files so we can try to find the cause?
