Connecting application to remote SQL SERVER 2008 Express Edition RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am having an issue connecting to a remote SQL SERVER 2008 express edition.

My application built in BDS (Borland Developer Studio) 2006 and a local SQL SERVER 2008 Express Edition database working so fine, using ADO components. When i transfered my app to another computer on the  network, i cannot connect to the database. Just to mention, that my application when starts, it looks for an INI file containing the IP address of the SQL Server. if that INIFILE exists, it's okey, if not, it asks for the IP Address... But when i try to execute my application on another computer on the network, i get this error :

Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]

I would be so grateful for any help. thanks in advance
