  • something that has caused to relfect the Database in to recovery mode may be something might be issue when performin some query against the database abnormalities of power failure or improper shutdown  and made the database to inrecovery or it might be the transaction log file performing its undo part  to ensure the interity of the database...

so one thing you can resolve check the DMV called sys.dm_exec_requests(incase of SQL 2005+) to check the recovery status...(alsois that Mannually some one issues the restored activityon the DB)...... and if you see progress(seepercentage column or estimated....column) then wait for the DB to get it recovery...

or you can just restore with the well good backup if you feel so once you have anyalzed what caused the issue to reflect the DB to recovery status by going through the event logs and SQL error logs..

  • have a look in the error log.  it should tell you how long's left to go.  what does sys.databases say the status to be?

    Thanks, Andrew
