Connecting to SQL CE 3.5 database from SSIS 2005 RRS feed

Answers

  • Hi Tripathivikas,

Of course it is possible to connect to SQL CE from SSIS 2005. Is it 32 or 64 bit machine? The problem you are facing is most likely SQLCE is not supported in 64 bit mode. Please take the following steps and then check if it works for you:

    1. Right Click on your project in Solution Explorer

    2. Go to "Debugging" view

    3. Set Run64BitRuntime property to False

    4. Execute your package

  • Hi,

Yes. Right clic in connection managers area, select new connection...and in the new opened window look for SQLMOBILE. Ready to go.

  • Hi Victor,

I tried doing that. But I got the following error.

    TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio

    ------------------------------

The SQL Server Mobile connection cannot be acquired.

    Invalid database version. [ Db version = 3505053,Requested version = 3004180,File name =  <.sdf File Location> ]

Click Yes if you want to save the current settings.

Click No if you want to go back to the SQL Server Mobile Connection editor.

    ------------------------------

I am just curious if it is possible at all to connect to SQL CE 3.5 from SSIS 2005. I can connect successfully to SQL CE 3.5 from SSIS 2008
