Run64BitRuntime Disabled RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Visual Studio 2012 with SSDT... the Run64BitRuntime property is disabled

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2881285

The above bug seems to only apply to Visual Studio 2010 - and we do not have it installed on this server, only 2012

Can anyone advise why the Run64BitRunTime property is disabled?

Does this bug apply to us?

    Thanks! Josh

  • Installing CU7 did not fix the issue for us, Run64BitRuntime is still greyed out in the designer...

    Are we missing something?

    Thanks! Josh

Use instead the SSDT provided by the SQL Server 2012 installation, AKA Visual Studio 2010 Shell

  • The "applies to" section listed SQL Server 2012, so any SSTD that targets this build would be affected.

The fix is Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2012 SP1.

  • Thanks for the response...In the symptoms section :

"You have Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate installed on a server."

We do not have 2010 installed. But I will try it and report back.

    Thanks! Josh

  • The problem spills over to VS 2012.  Had the same issue a couple months ago.

  • Hi Josh,

The Run64BitRuntime property disabled issue occurs with Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012. The hotfix 1455690 which was first introduced in CU7 for SQL Server 2012 SP1 addresses this issue. If the issue persists after you install CU7, the update should not be installed properly. I suggest that you install the CU8 or the latest CU9 for SQL Server 2012 SP1 to fix this issue.
