SQL Server 2014 Express - Sample Data

    Question

  • I previously had SQL 2005, 2008, 2010 on my personal pc.  I just downloaded SQL Express 2014 (Mgmt tools are separate download).  I know that in most "real-world" scenarios, that both the Northwind and Adventureworks databases are supposed to be removed for security purposes, but I wanted some data to play and develop against.  Geez, what a pain in the @rse.  I had to backwards go from Access 2010 32 bit version and use the upsize wizard to get Northwind. Still working on Adventureworks.   Hey, Microsoft, please make this easier to get freekin' sample data!

If anyone else has a better way or a work around I would love to hear it.

I am living in real world as a DBA and I don't why there should be a security issue to host AdventureWorks database!?
