ERROR: Retrieving the COM Class Factory RRS feed

  • Question

  • I got the following error message in SSIS Package.

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {7816B7A3-CD60-4539-BD38-C35AFC61F200} failed due to the following error: 80040153.

I changed my SSIS DBConnect to point to remote Server After Testing on Local.

Tested the Connection tested OK. Went to a Lookup object in the Package and Changed it to point the the new Connection and tested it and it test ok. Then went to change the table the lookup is using and select the table fine.

But when I preview I get the following Error.

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {7816B7A3-CD60-4539-BD38-C35AFC61F200} failed due to the following error: 80040153.

I did notice my DBConnection DOES NOT look like its Remembering the password?? Or is it?

  • This message should not normally appear. It might mean that your SSIS installation is corrupted. But as a workarund - this CLSID belongs to SQLTaskConnections.dll. This library is located in %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\90(or 100 for SSIS 2008)\DTS\Binn.

    From command line execute

    regsvr32 SQLTaskConnections.dll

    Hope it helps.
