  • About "Application Gateway limits" in the URL below

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-subscription-service-limits#application-gateway-limits

"Instances per gateway 10" Can I scaled out Application Gateway up to 10 instances?

"HTTP Listeners 20", limit per instance?
That is, the limit for 10 instances is 200?
For 10 instances, limit on concurrent connections for front end and back end is 200?

  • Referring the same article which you have shared https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-subscription-service-limits#application-gateway-limits , “Instances per gateway 10”, means 50 application gateway per subscription is allowed and in 1 subscription per gateway 10 instances are allowed.

"HTTP Listeners 20”, means 20 HTTP Listeners are allowed per applicate gateway.

Could you explain the calculation you have mentioned in “For 10 instances, limit on concurrent connections for front end and back end is 200”.

  • 20 HTTP Listeners is per Application gateway and not per instance.

  • Thank you for your answer.

    I think...

    1 instance → 20 HTTP Listeners

    10 instances → 200 HTTP Listeners

This is , I thought that limit on concurrent connections for front end and back end is 200.

    Is this interpretation wrong?

  • I intended to understand but let me check it.

I understood that it is 20 HTTP listener per Application Gateway.
I also understood that it is not for each instance.

That is, in  a Application Gateway, 10 instances are also
    20 HTTP Listeners ?
In 10 Applicaton Gateway and all 1 instance, is
    200 HTTP Listener ?

I would like to scale out the Applicaation Gateway and increase the number of simultaneous connections. Moreover, I want to know the limit of the number of simultaneous connections.
