alwayson log queue - async problem! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I have some doubts with alwayson (async mode)… It happened many times that I see in the dashboard the green tick and everything looks perfect… But primary and (async) secondary is way far delayed…

Is there a way to measure that? I am trying to find the value of such queue…

I want to monitor how much statements are piling up in the async secondary.

    Any input will be appreciated!

    Thanks!!

Answers

  • Yes, take a look at the SQLServer Database Replica Perfmon Counters.  You can look at Log Send Queue,

Also looking at the AlwaysOn Availability Group Dashboard you can right click on the grid and add extra columns for Last Sent LSN, Last Recieved LSN and Last Hardened LSN.

If you want some great details on performance with secondary replicas I recommend watching this video from the Performance Virtual Chapter by Trayce Jordan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLU1dMnYf18
