SSAS Cube Processing Error Codes ?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

Can anyone help to let me know if we have a tool or a reference where we can find SSAS cube processing Error Code description.

I have different error codes logged whicle processing by cube, error codes like -1056964601,  -1055129598 etc.

I found a reference for SSIS error codes (, so was checking if something similar exists for SSAS ( SQL Server 2005).

  • Hi Vinish,

Currently, it seems there is no such reference or document to full describe SQL Server Analysis Services Error code. I found the following msdn document for your reference, please see:
    Analysis Services Error Messages:

In your case, please post the detail error mesage to us for further investigation? I recommend you refer to the following article:

  • Hi Elvis,

Thanks a lot for the help. The Data Collections Link provided will be really useful to troubleshoot the issues. My problem was, we are processing the cube via SSIS package and logging the errors in the database tables. THe error logged as of now only says cube processing failed and also logs an error code. To find the exact error we have to reprocess the cube again manually. As of now the packages are trigger using DTEXEC with Reporting E switch activated, but sometimes we only have some processing cancellation errors ( as a result of parallel processing) and need a manual processing to see actual erros.

I think this is more on the SSIS side to have detailed error loggging enabled, i will take this up in the SSIS forum.

Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Vinish,

You can install ASTrace2012 tool from the Codeplex and then capture Error events. Error code and actual error messages will be in the AsTrace table.
