mssql for linux (replication component not installed) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have MSSQL server  for linux 14.0.3023.8 on CentOS 7 (3.10.0-693.el7.x86_64)

It is necessary to enable the replication of some tables on a similar server.

SSMS reports that replication components are unavailable.

    sp_get_distributor reports

    installed: 0

    distribution server: NULL

    distribution db installed: 0

    is distribution publisher: 0

sp_adddistributor reports: "Replication components are not installed on this server"

How do I enable or install replication components?

You need to run setup again and install the replication components. You can do this from the command line like this:

    setup.exe /q /Features=Replication /InstanceName=MSSQLSERVER /ACTION=INSTALL /IAcceptSQLServerLicenseTerms

  • Looks like SQL Server vNext on Linux will have Replication. You can sign up to try this feature at https://sqlservervnexteap.azurewebsites.net/    <o:p></o:p>

Under the "Are there any other specific features you will test and validate?", you can select [SQL Server on Linux: Replication] <o:p></o:p>
