  • Build a 3-node geographically dispersed Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) on multiple network subnets. Use 2 nodes for primary site and 1 node for DR site. Create a 2-node SQL Server failover clustered instance (FCI) using the nodes in the primary site. Create an Availability Group with the FCI as the primary replica and the standalone instance on the DR as the secondary replica. Create an Availability Group listener name with 2 virtual IP address - one for primary site and one for DR site. Disable the voting option of the node in the DR site.

    Hi ABDUL,

As Edwin’s post, build Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) firstly, for more details, please review this blog.

Secondly, build SQL Server Failover Cluster, you can follow the steps in this similar blog: SQL 2012 Failover Cluster Build (Step by Step).

Thirdly, add SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups to the existing SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance (FCI), please review this similar blog: Adding SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups to existing Failover Clusters.

    Thanks,

  • What will be the connection string in primary site?

And What will be the connection string after disaster occur (DR site)

  • The connection string should be using the Availability Group Listener Name. Depending on how you configure your DNS and the listener name, this entry will be written on your DNS servers. After failover, your application can be redirected to the DR using the same name but with a different IP address
