SSISDB - Rebuild Indexes? RRS feed

  • Fellow SQLers,

    I am on sql 2016. Is it best practice to rebuild the indexes on ssisdb?

  • Unless your frequently creating, updating & deleting thousands or millions of SSIS packages and then running queries against SSISDB tables, I don't think it would be helpful or necessary to rebuild indexes there.

    Rebuilding indexes is generally only required on large tables in user databases that have frequent insert/update/delete operatioin, thus causing them to get fragmented over time.

  • Thx Phil, I new all about why you create indexes but did not know if SSISDB did some type of internal index rebuilding on its own. You have answered my question.
