  • Check to see if you have any jobs running.  Sometimes you may have jobs trying to connect to databases that no longer exist.

Go to SQL Server Management Studio, Go to SQL Server Agent, Open Jobs and see if you any jobs that may be causing this problem.  This is specially true if you were dealing with SharePoint or Project Server.

  • Hi,

I've just encountered the same problem after running the latest updates to Sharepoint and SQL express on our Sharepoint server.  To add to my problems even after loading SQL Management Studio Express I cannot find SQL Server Agent listed anywhere down the left hand side.  Please if anyone knows why this may be or has another answer to why we now cannot access Sharepoint AT ALL after appling the updates, please could you let me know.

During the SQL server Express update it failed, so I had to manually re-run the update which this time worked, but the above problem still has not gone away.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Cheers

  • What running jobs were there and what did you do to correct it?

  • Hi,

Indeed it seemed to be a job. (ASPState, which no longer used / existing)
My logs seem much less bulky right now :))

    Thnx rbanerji!
