Hi, I also have similar problem when trying launch report manager by typing http://localhost/reports

  • Hi,

I am new at using Report Service and after successful install the SQL SERVER EXPRESS  ADVANCE SP2 and configured the ReportIing Services Configuration. I try to launch the report manager by typing http://localhost/Reports I  get the following error:

The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.

I've read many forums but I couldn't resolve my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I am running IIS 7 on Window Vista Business Ed. & SQL Server Express Ed. I am not sure if this make any differences.

Also make sure that the Service is working under http://localhost/ReportServer

  • Thank you for your suggestion.

All of my configuration and IIS Installation matched with the links provided for installing Report Services in Vista.

I have successful all the Report Services Configuration and verified that the Report Server is running.

But when i try to launch using the default url: http://localhost/Reports, i get the same error.

I have read other thread and it seem like this is a common question but I one got a clear solution on how to resolve the problem.

    Any help would be appriciated.

Below is one of the thread that discussed similar issue, but no clear solution presented.

  • Sorry, I still couldn't find a way to make it work.

I know that i am very close to get it working and by reading many others post. I came to conclude that i have ASP.NET group authentication issue when i try to launch the report manager, but i haven't figure out a way to give the right permission. I really hope someone can point me into the right direction. I receive advise to look at the log file, but that doesn't help. If you have a solution, let me know too cause i am still trying to figure it out.
