SQL Server Compact Edition RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

We have noticed that during installation of SQL Server 2008 R2, below two components installed by default. Will there be any harm in database services if we uninstall them manually?

Note: We are not using any features that provides compact edition.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks

  • Hi Arup.mca,

Actually, the installation of SQL Server 2008 R2 will not bring the SQL Server Compact edition, uninstalling the SQL Server Compact edition will not affect the SQL Server instance.

Generally, the SQL Server Compact edition is brought by some application which uses SQL CE as embed database, please first confirm that this is not installed by other application.

    Best Regards,
